The Kasa Smart Multicolor Light Strip (KL430) offers millions of colors and customizable effects for refreshing home lighting. These four ideas combine decorative effects with practical illumination.
1. Set the mood for dinner
For a candle-free romantic setting, use voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant supported devices to dim the strip and activate the “flicker” effect. After dinner, vivid flashing multicolor lighting can provide a backdrop for dancing.
Addressable RGB LEDs provide eight independently customizable color zones per meter. Choose predefined effects in the Kasa Smart app or combine animated colors into your own patterns. Save favorites as presets or scenes to recall them with a tap.
2. Brighten cabinets and stairways
Use the strip to fill gaps left by overhead lighting in kitchens, around drawers, along hallways and on stairways. Its slim, flexible design can be bent, cut1 or extended2 to fit the installation.
Dedicated white LEDs provide true white illumination, with adjustable brightness and warm-to-cool shades from 2500 K – 9000 K. The 3M adhesion and silicone coating help it withstand everyday wear, including dust and moisture.

4. Build a light-based alarm clock
Install the strip in a bedroom or home office and use schedules or timers to create an animated alarm. A sunrise scene can brighten wake-up time, while cozy warm white light offers a relaxing setting at the end of the day.
Cutting and extension limits
- A cut strip cannot be reattached. Disconnect power before cutting to prevent accidental shocks, and cut only along the indicator lines.
- The strip can extend up to 33 ft using additional extensions sold separately.
